"Interior design involves more than just creating a good-looking space that impresses clients. It means having a complete understanding of the purpose of the project and a thorough knowledge of a client's budget, lifestyle and future plans."

Designer Profile

I initially entered the design arena in the Bay Area by "renewing" residential interiors. This service utilized the homeowner's existing furnishings and accessories which were then rearranged and displayed in an aesthetically-refreshed and spatially-organized floor plan. This included identification of design deficits whereby suggestions were outlined to complete the space.

I eventually returned to my hometown where I founded Kate Crowston Interiors and have been operating as a design consultant for over 15 years. I've been involved in many projects around the state as well as assignments in the Bay Area, Reno, Las Vegas and Seattle. I participated in the first Spaces.now Decorator's Show Space in the historic 19th-century Voorhies Mansion which I project managed the rejuvenation of the dining room.
